I have recently purchased a USB Network Interface Adapter trying to make it work with my neighbor's wifi hot spot. I'm always mobile so, applying for a dsl subscription is not a good idea. I am working with my pc at home inside a cave to be more specific, I have some trouble connecting to the hotspot which is right beside our house. What is the range of a typical wifi hotspot?

Google is my friend, instead of giving me the range, i found a wifi range extender instead. It's so creative with just the following items needed:
1 - Metal Strainer/Steamer
1 - USB WIFI Adaptor
1 - USB Extension Cable (I chose a 10ft long)
½" Drill Bit (I like to use stepper bits for metal)
Gorilla Glue (Epoxy works well too)
2 - Zip Ties

I am tempted and I'm sure I'm going to miss our home strainer. Not sure if it's going to work inside a cave. I tried searching some more and found Smart bros latest wireless modem. It's very tempting, based on the operator's messages, as long as there is a signal from your phone; the modem should work! I have changed my mind ill try the modem first and later, if its not going to work; ill experiment on the strainer.

Search engines ignore these keywords because they are common in most articles, may also slow down the search process and they does not contribute to relevance. These stop words contains conjunctions, prepositions, and articles.

In contrary, when we are optimizing for a keyword that contains any of the stop words(e.g. IT, one, two etc), it would then become troublesome for the seo department. So, it is best to choose the right keywords to optimize for your website beforehand.

The search bar in IE7 will become redundant if we install another toolbar for like the google toolbar. we could then use the extra space for our address bar. To disable the built in search bar in internet explorer 7 :

1. Start -> Run -> regedit -> OK
2. Navigate to

* Policies
* Microsoft
* Internet Explorer

* Restrictions
3. Right click on an empty space select: New -> DWORD value
4. Rename New Value #1 to NoSearchBox : Right click on New Value #1 -> Rename
5. Double click on NoSearchBox name
6. On the Value data textbox change it to 1 from zero
7. Click on OK

Your Search bar in IE7 will be gone, to enable it back again, just change the value data 1 back to 0.

Usually when doing some 'copy' 'and paste' stuff would end with so many duplicates. It would be very tedious in manually editing them. when collecting sites for link exchanges, we will get lots of duplicate domains especially from google and wikipedia which most of the links.

Normally, we use advanced filter but something is wrong with it, its not filtering the character 'a'. I got two of them and the result still has two of them. Here is how i did it with advanced filter.

1. Click On an empty cell column
2. On the menu choose: Data -> Filter -> Advanced Filter
3. In the dialog box, type in the range of cells to filter at the List Range text box. e.g. type in $A$2:$A$1319 for cell A2 to cell A1319
4. On the Copy to text box type in the cell location of the output (filtered list)
5. Click on the Unique records only check box
6. Press OK

With the tool duplicate remover, we could remove repeating domain names in an instant. But if we are just simply collecting words and similar list that we become another story. Usually we collect word or phrases and paste them in an excel worksheet. but the question is how to filter the list and remove the duplicates? well i run unto the same problems and luckily i found a macro on the internet, so it saved me the time in creating one.

2. Alt + F11 to open the Visual Basic Editor (VBE).
3. Insert-Module.
4. Paste the code below.
5. Close the VBE (Alt + Q or the X in the top-right corner).

Its making me insane @#$^#. And then somebody sent me a message from Skype !!!! There it goes, i remembered, Skype is using port 80, and I dont know why. Closed Skype, runned the installed again and viola! It works.

One problem with POP3 mail is that when you are downloading mails and suddenly an error has occurred, when you try to restart your download you will get duplicate mails!!! Now my inbox has over 8000 emails and its about 900MB in size, that would be very hard to manually delete those duplicate emails.

With IMAP hopefully that problem will be resolved since it has two-way syncing capabilities. IMAP stands for Internet Message Access Protocol. When using IMAP with GMAIL, all your labeled messages would arrive in folders, that is a label and inside the individual messages with its corresponding marks. Deleting a message in IMAP wont de deleted in GMAIL, you have to move it to the trash or delete it at GMAIL.

You can set your client to work offline to be able to download all your email messages, otherwise on most IMAP clients, it will only download the mail headers. When sending messages from your client creates new labels on GMAIL, they are marked as Sent Messages which indicates that the messages are sent from your mail client. When you create folders on your client they will be treated as label on GMAIL. There folder names which are reserved, they are Chats and Sent, when you try to create a folder with this name on IMAP they have a prefix IMAP/folder name on GMAIL.

The new version Internet Explorer 7 has a problem in caching of the displayed specially if you are using some ajax applications. Even if you have use the meta tags that specifies no cache, the IE7 would ignore them.

This is done with the help of high orbits and carefully monitoring the instruments for locating the satellites. After several weeks of listening to this song, i finally finished adding chords to the lyrics, anyway just done on my first try so there might be lots of errors. Those are the first words that would appear when playing the Command and Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars demo. Downloaded it and i was amazed with its game details. Its my new monitor! bought it for about $220. Though, I have to adjust my wallpapers to match its resolution. Now i am able to display two windows at a time with its wide screen display and when playing I could still use 1024x768 resolution, althought some games appears to be streched. I was going to use it main for programming so, the 1024x768 resolution for games is fine with me.

I'm currently playing this game and so far i have enjoyed it a lot. I like the way storm floats and the graphics is so much better on the TV compared to its PC version. Somehow, i don't really know why. There are so many cheats on this game and so far ive only used the techbits cheat which gives you 100000 techbits. To enable curl library with XAMPP we need to modify the php.ini files in our xampp folder.

Mysql will return a duplicate entry error when trying to insert a duplicate value in an indexed field in the database. We could modify our sql insert state to check for primary key duplicate or index field duplicate and automatically update the first field with the updated value like this.

Here are common linux command examplers for managing user accounts.

Displaying user details
Syntax: id {username}

Create a new user with username tildemark
Syntax: useradd {username}

Create a new user with username tildemark under group admin

Creating a new user with username tildemark and assign a home folder
Syntax: useradd -d {location} {user}

Creating a new user tildemark and assigning a password pass
Syntax: useradd -p {password} {username}

Most of the time i do work with the linux shell, so most of the time i will be using ls to display files the current folder. However, in windows the command to display files is dir. i would always interpret cmd as a linux shell.

Back with the good old days, we could use doskey to assign shortcuts to DOS commands. So, we could just assign ls to its windows equivalent like this:

Now, whenever we type ls, dir command is executed. We could also do that in Windows XP Command prompt, but the problem is after you have closed the window the doskey is also removed as well and we have to type it again every time we would run cmd.

There is actually a work around with that, we could modify our cmd shortcut in the start menu to add the doskey instructions there so that everytime the cmd is loaded the extra line is also executed as well.

Actually, its better to use the registry option because after adding the code to the shortcut properties; the code completion for the command prompt no longer works.

It was indeed an awesome experience with go-karting; you could fell the rush and the excitement combined. it was my first time to drive on a real life high speed machine?, toy? kart? ahh, well just call it Kart. Although, i had my 2 year experience with Need For Speed but its different with the real ones, had some nice drift moves out there. We had 8 laps of hardcore racing, during that time i felt like i was Michael Schumacher, but only with different outfit. Unlike with the other competition, the race was started with a mere GO shout, no sexy ladies waving sign numbers.

 

I'm pretty much excited with the upcoming movie Transformers! Been watching this cartoon series since I was in little now its back again. This time in the big screen, yeah! I can't wait to see Optimus Prime in action. I wonder how they will portray Megatron. Cool thing is, I think they'll be featuring Spike, the autobot's homo sapien friend on earth.

But if Spike really is in the movie and he's the decepticon's enemy, he'll pretty much need a revision rhinoplasty in any case he gets hit on the face by one of those big robots. Then again, autobots will save the day and it will be cool to see bumblee saving him. Hurray for the autobots, for more updates please check this site.
