Outlined circle, square or any polygon in Photoshop

Drawing filled polygons in photoshop is fairly easy, however, an outlined circle without the fill seem to be a bit difficult to create. You probably figured it out yourself but for those who haven’t i have outlined the steps below.

There are many ways to create the circle and i am only  providing two its up to you to choose which method you prefer later. In my own personal opinion, i find method 2 to be the easiest and more accurate.

Method 1: using the polygon tool (U)
  1. Add a new layer
  2. Using the polygon tool (press U)
  3. Draw a polygon (circle) in to the canvass
  4. To make a circle or square hold down the shift key while drawing the object
  5. At the layers palette (press F7, if there’s no layers palette)
  6. Select the layer with your polygon on
  7. Drag the Fill Slider bar from 100% to 0%
  8. Right Click on the polygon layer, and choose Blending Options at the context menu
  9. At the Styles sidebar, select and place a check at the Stroke check box
  10. Adjust the Size of the stroke in pixels
  11. Change the color and the position
  12. Then click OK
  13. You may resize the polygon by using the Free Transform (Command-T) key
Method 2: Using the Marquee Tool (m)
  1. Add a new layer
  2. Using the Marquee tool (press M)
  3. Draw a polygon (circle, square, etc) into the canvass
  4. To make a circle or square hold down the shift key while drawing the object
  5. At the Edit menu, choose Stroke
  6. Set the Width in pixel,
  7. Set the color and location
  8. Then click OK
  9. You may resize the polygon by using the Free Transform (Command-T) key
Method 2 is way simpler and the polygon is more concise compare to method 1 either way its up to you to decide.
